They sound great with cats, horrible without. The LM is gurgly and raw and sounds almost like a pissed-off speedboat. Once you do headers and ORY, you'll need to make some changes. I went the BorlaMouth route and couldn't be happier...

Ive tried lookin under neath the car at the muffler, and dont see a flowmaster or a symbol of any brand on it. So im assuming it's the stock exhaust system.
Take a picture of the rear of the car, one where we can see the tips. We'll be able to tell you what it is.

I don't like the loudmouth all that much anymore, I used to like it when I was a little newer to F-bodys, but now I like something with a little more defined tone. The LM just kind of sounds like a quieter cutout, it has no definite sound like when you hear a borla, corsa, flowmaster, or magnaflow. All those are recognizable sounds. The LM is just very.... loud and gurgly/raw like somebody said 2 posts above.

If your gonna get an exhaust I vote for the GMMG. Little quieter than a loudmouth, not much, but yet a nice classic muscle sound that you would expect from a 60's car.

Factory catback is wayyy to quiet.. Even with my LT's and ORY it's very quiet cruising and still way too quiet at WOT.

Define "nice"...lol

Heavy and quiet...but f-body exhaust flows fairly well for stock. Thats why cat-back exhaust systems typically don't gain huge amounts.

LM 1 resonator is as shiny on the inside as it is on the outside!
It idles sweet, sounds nasty wide open, but sounds like a pickup truck at 2000rpm part throttle. It's always loud.
I like it (except the truck sound), but it's not for everybody.

when i had the stock catback on my Z28 it sounded like Rice Krispies to me, never did figure that one out, but ultimately went to a full aftermarket setup and haven't looked back since.

lol well what i mean by nice, is it has a good rumble when you rev it up and step on it. Its just not a loud mean soundin rumble. There just not very loud like alot of Mustang's, Trans Ams, Camaro's, and Truck's that i see driving around with exhaust system's. My father has Flowmaster's on his Avalanche, and my exhaust system is louder then those. He does have the Chevy Symbol tips on it, and i think they say those lower the sound down some.

lol well im not really sure if my exhaust system is stock, i got the car used but like i said in my 1st post. I had a friend who had the exact same camaro but a darker color and same looking exhaust system and they both sounded similar to eachother.

I dont see a aftermarket logo on the system, it could be on the otherside that's facing up against the car. They sound good to me, i just happen to want better sounding and lookin ones.

Well I hope you don't just go for the system that provides the best exhaust note. I'd put performance before sound, and everyone knows that the best tone/loudest isn't necessarily the better performer...

I have a LM1, and it sounds great! I love it! very baddass and loud. I used to have a chokemaster, and before that stock muffler (which we all know is super quiet)

Yeaa, im not really into being a racer or anything tho. So the performance doesnt really matter to me right now, maybe if i do race and get beat ill then put more under the hood but other then that. Im more of the type that want's the look of the car to be nice, and knowin that the car has the power right now is koo with me.

Very first mod I did to my 94 was to get a flowmaster catback. The stock exhaust was so much quieter than my 83 z28 with dumped duals, even with the flowmaster it was still too quiet. Then I got a cutout. Well I replaced all that with a bullet using the flowmaster piping to get it over the axle and out back, now its nice at idle and almost as loud as the cutout at WOT, except you can still hear the stereo and the person next to you now.
