I still have the 2.73's and when I still had 245's I could spin them a bit, it didn't take a lot, but going from a stop it did just really hook and not do anything amazing. All I have now are lid/catback and 275 all seasons, can get them spinning and smoking easily.

Love the MBM - pretty car! And as for smoking the tires ... if you have 2.73's, going to 3.23's or 3.42's won't cost you any mileage in town, but will really improve the throttle response. 3.23's are a great match for an LT1; so with the LS1 torque peak being higher, you'd want as much or more gear. Or just get a converter.

That would be my advice.

2.73s aren't bad at all once you've got a stall. Actually in some situations it's better because you'll get higher speed downshifts to 1st and 2nd than with 3.23+. However for the drag racer, more aggressive gearing will generally equal better ETs so long as you've got the tires to hold it.

And the 2.73 to 3.23 swap isn't worth it, IMO. To justify the expense, I'd want to go at least 3.42 or 3.73.

My friends automatic cobalt SS 4 cylinder spins the tires. My brother test drive a camaro about a month ago that wouldnt spin the tires and you could tell it was not running right.

Yeah the LT1 definitely has no problem getting off the line cause they're a low end power car naturally. I pulled the same 60 ft time at the track with both my fbodys. 1st one being my cat back only and tired LT1..and 2nd with my stock 02 a4 ws6 with about 55,000. I do miss how the LT1 would come out the whole but the top end of the LS1 is quite nice

Does anyone actually have a video or can get a video of a stock A4 Z28 spinning the tires on take off?
Im curious about this since I see people on here saying its no problem to do.

I cant do it at all on take off but it pulls pretty good, I have Potenza RE90 225/60/16's that the previous owner decided to put on...cant wait to get rid of these tall skinny *** tires

Actually does anyone have a video of the speedo from 0 to say 80 in a stock A4 ls1?

I would like to compare the video I have to it and maybe see if mine is running like it should be.

Thanks.
