guys, just a fyi, if you start lowering the tire pressure on your street tires you will end up losing some contact patch due to the tire "cupping" along the center of the tread.

I've always run:

- 28-30psi for street tires

- 16-20psi for drag radials (depending on track conditions)

I leave my 315 streets at 37psi. Once I get Dr's then I'll start lowering it.

yeah i used to do that also untell i talked to a local drag guy around here and he was explaining how i actually lose tracting due to them being solid walls so they dont actually bend for traction where as a slick has the bend wall so it always grips

the best thing you could do for traction, at the track, is to unhook your front swaybar. and if you are spinning that bad, try leaving in second. see what that does for ya. when i had a 4.56 gear set in my car, 1st gear was useless. i dont know what gears you have though. if you wanna get sneaky, try a little bleach on the tires right before you "put a little heat" in them. though that may be hit or miss on treaded tires.

Thats weird, are you using the waterbox? I wouldn't on street tires, just drive around the box and do a small dry burnout. than stage. Good luck

i usually lower my street tires to around 25 PSI due to alot of wheel hop ...that usually gets rid of the wheel hop and i have pulled 2.0s on street tires with a conservative launch...

40 psi on street tires (way back when), drive around the water box and do a real small burnout just to clean the tires off (don't heat them up).

20 psi on Nitto 555R drag radials, drive through the waterbox and do a long 10-12 second burnout to get them nice and hot.

20 psi on M/T street radials, going through the waterbox and doing a five second burnout to get them warm/mildly hot.

I've gotten 2.0-2.1 60's with the street tires while feathering the launch a bit. I've gotten 1.7 60's with the Nittos going full throttle off a straight idle. I've gotten 1.6 60's on the M/T street radials by brake stalling up to 2,000 rpm's and flooring it on green.

Yep, taking off sway bar helps alot... I do it ever time at the track. No issues with traction on my 255/50/17 MT DR...
