I would start getting worried about a car once it gets over 150k..

even then, if properly maintained, it might go another 50k miles on stock gaskets and stuff

i use to work at a chevy dealer......i would NEVER buy a cop car. the local CHP had their car in at least once or twice a month. they are a4's, and they kept breaking things on it and even the flywheel. the tranny was replaced like 3 times in the year i was there, so from my experiences...no way.

You will find one forsure!!!!!!

My first camaro was 2 years ago, and I bought it from the FORD dealership.

A 90 year old lady traded it in on a mustang. .. (DUMB BIATCH) I know..

It was a white T-Top Auto with 34000 miles on it... I got it for 10,500!!!!!!!

My second camaro, I found at a Dodge Dealership!!! haha

Red, black convertible top, TT2's, Tinted Windows, stereo....
Got it for 9400 it had 73000 miles on it...

at the enemy's dealership. Good price on both of those cars.

Two years ago I paid $10k for a Black 48k mile stock 1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (with hardtop/6-speed manual)

That sounds about right.

I think the person asking $8,000 for the car is high. They are wanting to get all the money out of the mods they did to the car and then some.

man you see how cops drive? they take off and wot most of the time in their Crow Vics. imagine in an LS1. and they leave their A/C on full blast all the time and while sitting in their cars for hours. and that LS1 is no doubt a freaking chase car. so that means their sitting on the side of the highway with A/C on and waiting for a speeder....then they freaking launch that bitch to redline every single time to catch up.

maintenance is nice. but car rentals, taxi companies, U-Haul, etc...they all have maintenance programs....don't mean they're all good. and i doubt the cops' cars get synthetic fluids.

Do not buy a cop car, ive got two relatives who are police officers and one currently drives a Z28, they thrash their cars, and say they go over speed bumps at like 60 just for the fun of it and because its not their car its the city's car. this is just one of numerous things, they may look nice but they are thrashed.

I got 138K and some bearings have been spun already. It still drives strong with the amount of shavings i have been getting in my oil. Its just when its get hot after an hour of driving it gets a lil sluggish.

Got an 04 LS6 with 10K on it prepped and ready to go sitting in my room saran wrapped.

LS1s dont last forever like LT1 styles did, but they sure are tough when they are on their way out the door.

The FHP cars aren't beat on. They spend well over 75% of their miles at cruising speeds running up and down the turnpike. Find out what dept ran the car before you start talking about it being beat on... cities and sometimes counties are run hard because they're going short distances but those state cars just roll up and down the highway.

FWIW... I sold my 02 B4C w/ 103k for $10k even with an oem SS hood and spoiler and a few other things. That being said... I think I cleaned up, and you can definitely find a better deal than that car. Definitely watch the for sale section on here... and don't spend $10k on something if it's not exactly what you want.
