My TA says that it has the WS9 option (firebird formula). However one can clearly see that it is a TA, not a firebird. It has the raised spoiler, front clip with larger foglights, leather int, t-tops, etc. The reason I know it has the WS9 option is because I requested the list from the joshp14 in the forums. However, when I search all the forums say there is no such thing as a Trans Am/formula. If there is then what exactly does the WS9 option entail that my TA doesn't already have (i.e. the drivetrain). Any help on this would be appreciated.

Ws9 means its a v8. I have a ws6 TA and it says ws9 also.

I also have a 98 ws6 and on my door I have the ws6 option it does NOT say ws9 so maybe they changed things later on in the years. I thought the ws9 was the formula ws6 like the ws6 hook and no rear spoiler? To confusing for me im tired

All basically start as a Firebird, WS9 should be on both Formula's and TA's - gives it the V8. It is on my door sticker and build sheet(it kinda became a Formula before becoming a TA), as should Y82 for a TA

I have the following codes and descriptions(found a list of the RPO's along with their descriptions on the web somewhere some time ago, try a google search)

WS6 - Appearance & Performance Package, Formula/TransAm
WS9 - Model Conversion, Formula
Y82 - Merchandised Package, Pontiac Firebird TransAm Base
