How are you guys affording...?
Like the title says, how are you guys affording your 4k to 7k and up h/c/i packages and or fi packages? Ive got a steady job with the local police dept(keep the flames to a minimum im a dispatcher not an officer) but still can not figure out how i would be able to gather 6000 dollars for a blower or 4000 for a h/c/i setup.
Do you guys charge this stuff on your cards? Take signature loans out? What?

Plan out on what the total cost of particular mods or build is going to be to start off. I did about 10g's saved and the rest on plastic for my 408. No car note. And I have a good job.

I priced together a little under $3000 for heads/cam parts. Install would be about $1100, but I am debating doing it myself w/ hep from a few local gearheads.
Note: My parts prices include PRC 5.3L heads, MS3 cam, titanium retainers, hardened pushrods, dual valve springs, ported oil pump, double roller adjustable heat treated timing chain, underdrive pulley, lifters, racetronix fuel pump/wiring harness, 36/42 lb. fuel injectors, tuning, etc.
Sure AFR will cost you more, but there are guys with great number (450+ rwho) with the set-up I have listed above.

I wonder to, but then again i am in school and such with (not any more) a car note. My truck is my only toy for now as getting an F body how i liked was just to much. (400hp/tq, and TT wheels with all boltons.)

My Camaro is just a bolt-on car so the mods weren't expensive. My Trans Am was more heavily modded though, and I paid cash for everything. My wife and I don't make a ton of money, but we do alright, and we have no kids, so we can afford some toys, etc.

Used a lil credit card. A lil tax return. Next tax season I think Im gonna go ***** out for a procharger. Want to get a 9" sometime in the mean time. Just have to save a bit. Lil by lil isnt hard though. Just get a cam then later get the heads.

Plan out what you want, go about $1k over that, then start getting stuff as you can.
I took out a $3k Signature Loan at the start of my 402 Project, sold the LT1 and some stuff that was in the car, so there was $5k right there in a matter of a few days, then I dumped it on the 402 stuff as I needed it.
Personally I am single, no kids, and have the Titles for the Cars, insurance is $95/month, so it's mod time all the time..
Personally I am thinkin about taking out another $1k just to have a little extra, and get my slicks.
