Question Camaro and Mustang.. How many own both? Updated with a pic..PG 4.

I have a 02 z28 with a few minor mods, and love the car like it was my kid. But I still have that itch to have another sports car. I mean, Its sad really, I have five vehicles, and I am still not satisfied. lol. I am thinking about getting rid of one of the 5 to get an 89 Fox Body, that allready has stuff done to it. What do you guys think? Would you if you had the chance own best of both worlds???

Yeah yeah I know some of you are like own a mustang, what the &^%$! I personally have my own thoughts on what I like, and I am not really a one sided person. The fox body's have a lot of potential, and not so expensive as the LS1's. They are fun cars to drive, and sound really good. And when set up right will give any LS1 a run for there money.

So what is your take on this, I would like to see what your opionons are.

Thanks Lane

j/k

One of my best buddies has an 04 Mach 1. It's a really nice car, it's mint with about 15k on it, he drives it about as much as I drive my SS . I personally would rather build my F-body to make it satisfy me instead of buying a ford

I've owned two 5.0 GTs, a 1989 and a 1992, and they were great cars. The 1987-1993 Fox is probably the only Ford I would ever buy again. Well, maybe a 1971 Torino, but I digress... Anyways, the Fox is great for what it is, a quick car on a budget. Parts are cheap, there is a huge aftermarket, lots of enthusiasts/forums/meets, 8.8 rear, light-weight, easy to work on and the cars are fun. Having said that, they have a lot of shortcomings too... The interiors suck, brakes suck, 4-lug?, Quadra-shock, kind of dated looking, crappy T-5 and you are starting with about 190rwhp. Another problem is that most affordable 5.0s are pretty spanked. Here's a pic of my bolt-on/suspension 1992 GT with my Z28 when it had ugly C5 rims on it.

I have owned 3 stangs and 3 f-bodies and I love both the cars....I have had a '90 LX 5.0, '96 GT, and an '03 GT(see avatar) and an '02 TA, '01 Formula, and an '02 Z28(current).....if you got the funds I would def say go for it....Foxes look amazing IMO and I would love to have another one and I will some day and you are right...with the right parts they can def run with LS1's, the 5.0 is a damn good motor, dont listen to all the Ford haters, most of 'em are prob **** who have never even driven a mustang.....here are some pics of my ride......

-tear, i should have never sold that damn car, it was literally the cleanest Fox on the planet....I was the second owner, had never been wrecked, original paint, just a pristine car..... I miss her

and here are some of the '03 just for ***** and giggles.....

01FormulaTA- Beautiful pics of the 1990! Very tastefully done! I wouldn't put the 5.0 in the same league as the LSx, but it is a good engine and worthy of respect.

I say do it, I wish I could find a good deal on one for a daily driver. Driving my 90 Buick Lesabre is on the verge of embarrassing.

I have one of each and enjoy both. I like my 94 T/A because of the t-tops and my wife is in love with that car hands down. My Mustang on the other hand is light, fast and very fun to drive. It has Vic Jr Heads and a few other things that make it fun. It is all about personal preference. I like working on both versus limiting myself to one type of car. I think you should go with what you feel will make you happy.

Dude! I have a 1990 LeSabre that I bought with 109K mi for $1500 in 2000. Awesome car as a driver. She now has 200K mi and has needed nothing but wear items and a ignition/coil module. I love Buicks...

appreciate the compliments man, and ya I wouldnt put it in the same league w/ an LS1 at all but with the right mods they can still be very quick. when I had that car a buddy of mine had an 89 hatch GT with a 3k stall, TFS heads and intake, and E-303 cam with all the other bolt-ons and that car ran low 12's all day long, now would an LS1 with similar destory the fox? yes of course but not for the money, the stangs are very cheap to mod and a hell of lot easier to work on.....they also sound about a million times better but I guess thats a matter of opinion

I wish I could get a Fox LX or notchback; 5 lug conversion it, put some nice wheels and stance and looks just so smooth. Hell you can get superchargers for them for dirt cheap.

When they switched to the SN95 look mustangs went kinda down the drain for me. Unless its the 03-04 Cobra's. The blower whine of one of those gives me chills!

Btw I used to have a 90' LX Convertible 5.0. Was the 7up Edition but had it painted all white with the white pony's and white leather. The car's front seat room was only about 75% of what my TA is though. I fit much more comfortable in this car @ 6'2 200# then I ever did in a fox. The seats werent's very adjustable and the sliders slid like 4 inches back and forth. Fun little car though. The AOD trans sucked weiners tho too.

I'm not a Mustang fan at all, but they do sound awesome. I ran across one with just a catback, and it sounded deeper and more violent than my car with LT's and dumped bullet
