Default NEW 2008 LS1 POWERED BUICK LaCROSSE

Look at this mistake I found on MSN AUTOS I couldn't stop rubbing my eyes. 1st I figured they just had it marked as a 5.7 so then I look at the bore and stroke and its 3.89 X 3.62. I was so confused at this point that I had to look at a few other sources (the tq listed on the MSN page also hinted at the truth 323 @ 4000) to make sure that this was all a mistake and of course I was correct it is going to be 5.3. Still for a minute or so there I was both excited and confused lol

haha yea the LS4 is going to be in the LaCrosse. Personally I would have expected it in the Lucerne before the LaCrosse.

Well the CX and CXL weight about the same as an AUTO GT. The CSX has about 60lbs on it and the Super has a good 275lbs if its a M5 then add another 50lbs to those numbers. Still I'd love to have the CSX like a poor mans Caddy CTS and of course who would turn down a 300 hp SB, just whish it was RW drive. It is too bad a lot of the LS4 cars are not selling. My mother is looking to buy a G5 and while she was looking around I was asking about the Grand Prix GXP’s and the dealer was saying they cannot move them. I just don't get it they only weigh 3,600lbs get very good fuel economy have 300hp and don't even cost 30G's and you can fit 5 people in them comfortably, but people would rather spend 35 and get some import with 50 less hp that gets the same fuel economy.

^^^ Because they are front wheel drive... my experience with higher horsepower cars that are FWD is the suspension can't take the torque... you'll be replacing tie rods and balljoints all the time.

Why not they're putting the LS-2 in a SAAB. And its being built in Ohio.

I honestly don't think it's gay nor a disgrace. I glad to see in the last few years that American cars, not just in the sports car segment, getting built with some ***** again. The only thing about this Buford IMO is it's still "wrong wheel drive".

If you ask me... I think GM doesn't move more of these LSx cars because of a lack of advertising. Same with the 98-02 f-bodies.
Until recently, I had never seen a commercial/advertisement that pointed out the incredible efficieny of the LSx motors. I don't know what the EPA is rating them at now, but my car was rated at 19city/28hywy from the factory, and it held true to those numbers. Those are amazing numbers for a 2000 model car w/an underated 325hp output. I was happy to see an internet add that said something to the effect of, 'the new 505hp Z06 beat the gas guzzler tax'.
Mine's been a great DD, and still reliable at 193k miles. It getting a little more expensive to keep the SES light off, but still better than any other vehicle I've used.

I've had the best luck, insofar as dependability and cost of ownership, with Buick cars. I'll be looking at both the Lacrosse and Lucerne as well as the G8 to replace my current Buick LeSabre...
