Lets think of it in this perspective though. Whenever a Fbody owner gets beat by a faster car, they bring up the vette and its handling. Almost everybody on this site is here because of drag racing, not auto-cross or road course. Please don't throw these worthless areas into the equation when we are talking about straight line speed only. The GT500 is a drag/street car. It's meant to be fast in a straight line. This in fact would beat a LS3 vette stock for stock, bolt-on for bolt-on, and big budget projects. I guess I'd be a little ticked off if the guy next to me got a car for $40k, brand-new(with warranty) and did $1k in mods to it and is pulling Z06s from dig and rolls. Damn. Hell, they do that with just a CAI and a pulley though...

Please don't bring up the weight issue either. Fbody is only 300lbs lighter than a GT500, and those are what everybody considers the "big" drag racing car. I think 300lbs is worth it for a blower, built rear-end, built-tranny, AND a forged motor from the factory...

I wish I had forged factory internals in my fbody, that would possibly be the coolest thing ever.

What are you talking about? An LS2 Vette is faster than the GT500, never mind the LS3.

I thought we were talking about the 427 Douche...er...Roushe Mustang and an LS1 Fbody?

I think we can all agree that LSx's are the best overall engines ever built. :-)

They are great looking but are def way to over priced. i messed around with one on the highway tried to get the guy to match speeds to go from a roll for a lil while but he didnt get the hint. i finally got him to roll down his window and asked to go from 40. we both match speeds and punch hit. i shut down at 115 with his a good 2 cars back. this was in my cat-back m6 vert

****, a local guy was running 13.5 in his C6 the other day. I was running 13.1 with only about $1200 into my car. $48k (base stripper - his could have had options) Corvette vs. $10k F-Body w/ ~$1k mods. Let's not get started with the throw $x,xxx into this car and it will run faster than the car that costs $xx,xxx or even $xxx, xxx. Run what you brung.

P.S. That C6 owner probably needed the !driver mod
