BTW, there are lots of people pushing 600 RWHP on a stock LS1, I could be wrong but I don't see many Machs doing that.

I dont think that a WS6 is going to blow away a Mach stock for stock. The WS6 is stronger and will pull but no bus lengths. Basic Mods for both cars (exhaust, air intake, headers) The TA will be alot stronger and respond better than the Mach would just like the others said, LS1's respond with decent sized numbers for bolt on mods. Mach's are sweet though, but WS6's still have a great look to them that is hard to match. T tops on the TA dont forget. Ive driven a few Mach's and raced a few Mach's with mods to match. Driving them it was a sweet car, but it felt too much like a GT inside, the power was great, feel was good, and sound was amazing, I love the 4.6 sound. Race wise, I raced a stock Mach with my mods in sig, and I put a good wooping on it. Raced another one with similar mods and it was a closer race but still had him pretty good, after the 110-120 mph+ speeds the LS1 is the king, it pulls at those speeds like no other car. Good luck.

Obviously everyone is going to say go with the trans-am and i say the same. But I dont know why people worship the 03-04 cobra. Why would you want a car that weighs 3800lbs and has the aerodynamics of a brick wall? who cares if its supercharged from the factory? With the extra money you spend on one you can easily mod the f-body to handle better, accelerate faster, and get much better gas mileage in the process. And btw stock for stock the termi isnt much faster if any at all in some cases.

I'm kinda glad I didn't find one though b/c I like the SS better.
The machs are sweet cars, and honestly stock to stock it would more than likely be a driver's race.
Like others have said the LS1 is easier to mod. However, Machs tend to have been beaten less, and to my knowledge have fewer problems (like the rearend..)
It all depends on your goals for the car I guess.
