Its possible, but that slimy, slippery boat ramp will be a major PITA.

And what the hell is wrong with your truck??? Its not like its a Renault or some type of weird car nobody has ever worked on.

To answer the question about the truck. I have owned this truck for 14 years and love it. I would never get rid of it. No one in this city wants to fix it. The dealer says after 2 years of having me bring it back a dozen times that now they don't see anything wrong with it that is not normal for a TBI engine. It stumbles and has a rough idle that comes and goes. Sounds like it is going to cut off sometimes. Now the dealer says that something is wrong with the torque converter maybe?? No mid range power and the truck shakes sometimes around 60 mph like it is shuttering. After they took all my money they decided that nothing was wrong except the converter. That would require more money for them. The mechanic thinks something is wrong but he doesn't know what and the service manager told him we are through messing with it. Mainly because when it was up there in May someone keyed the door. Anyway that is my story on the truck. I have been to 2 dealers and 2 independant shops and no one knows what is wrong with it. Now I am going to take it to a transmission place.

So I just wanted to know if I could tow with the camaro if I needed to.

I won't be getting rid of the truck because no one wants to fix it. If I did that I would have to get rid of everything I have owned. No one in Memphis knows what customer service is. It is bad here. It has been a nightmare.

Thanks for you input on the towing issue. As far as the truck if anyone knows someone in Memphis TN that I can go to but I have tried everything. Now I need a body shop because of the keyed door and a mechanic.

I was tryin

Those TBI trucks are reliable as rocks, almost always. They can be hard to diagnose because they give limited feedback when something is actually wrong, which means it requires actual skill and LOTS of experience to fix them. The symptoms you are describing are common to LOTS of different issues (fuel, spark, air, tranny, etc) and it sounds like you need to find a different dealer with some tune techs with about 15+ years of actual experience. They're the only ones who will have the needed hands on practice with TBI trucks to diagnose and fix your problem(s). Indeed, there may be more than one issue at work, which only makes it harder.

What has been fixed and/or replaced on the truck? How many miles? Stored in or out?

Why not just pull the truck's engine and tranny, and drop in a used set up? Sounds like you've spent enough money to be half way there as it it.

Browse eBay for compatable "complete pulls." Some packages can go cheap. If the seller says it ran good when it came out, then I'd take the risk if I talked to them on the phone and they sound honest and their feedback was good. Sure there are risks, but I've bought two cars on eBay and they've both been awesome and neither have had trouble in four years.

Just a thought. You say you're dead set on keeping the truck. I hate chasing gremlins.

I say do it. And post the pics yourself so that by the time someone else takes the pics and posts them, it'll be old news.

It's your car ; put the hitch on already . Won't hurt anything--same 4L60 as a truck . Speaking of trucks , convert to carburetor , or better still LS1

the trans isnt the only thing that hurts when you're towing. the rear suspension will take a beating.

I know that in Nashville, converting that truck to a carb might make it fail emmissions. I know they do check for cats and do a tailpipe sniffer on 95 and older vechiles.

However, I see that as being viable solution to the problem, although it might not be the cheapest.

hes talking about a jet ski-single jet ski on a trailer. not very heavy on the tounge of the trailer. i bet it wont even make the car squat a quater inch. i wouldnt say its any worse then riding 5 people in the car. i was thiking of even putting a hitch on my car for a jet ski or a single dirtbike trailer. do it go for it and post some pics.

put the hitch on.

too many people here act like they have $400,000 lambos. If your put it on it won't be a big deal, you can tow without it hurting the car. I think the limit is like what? 1200 lbs? who cares, if you need to tow using the Z, use the Z.

period. thats it.
