The base XLR comes with the 4.6 Northstar V8, while the V-series comes with a 4.4 Supercharged Northstar V8.

Maybe they are confused because of the CTS-V?

Yea the CTS-V is the only one of the Caddys to use an LSx motor. Both the XLR-V and STS-V use supercharged 4.4 Northstars. And as mentioned before the normal XLR uses the 4.6 Northstar.

Well that's certainly an anti-recommendation.

There's a guy in town with the supercharged version. Sweet car, but it's maroon. If it were black it'd be evil.

I disagree. Watch the Top Gear video on it. It really does give you a good value. 2 door 2 seater, hardtop convertible, one of the sexiest cars to ever roll out of an American auto factory, VVT supercharged/intercooled 32v DOHC all aluminum V8, 6-speed automatic transmission, Z51 Corvette brakes, and a lot of other features. Overpriced for the **** they got wrong? I'll agree to that. But none of those are very hard to change.

Sure, the Corvette offers better performance, but it isn't in the same class as the XLR IMHO. They are made for 2 different buyers.
