BTW, LATCH wasn't mandated by the government until September 1, 2002.

Although not available on the 4th gen, the 5th gen will have the LATCH system.

These were the only vehicles prior to the mandate that had LATCH available:

Buick Century, LeSabre, Regal and Rendezvous
Cadillac DeVille and Escalade
Chevrolet Impala, Malibu and Monte Carlo
Chevy Venture, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
GMC Sierra and Yukon XL
Pontiac Aztek, Grand AM, Bonneville and Montana
Oldsmobile Alero, Aurora, and Silhouette
Saturn L-Series and VUE
Saab 9-3 and 9-5

BTW, GM didn't introduce LATCH on it's vehicles until the 2002 model year. And only on those listed above. LATCH has THREE mounting points, 2 lower and one upper. Case in point: F-bodies do not have the required 2 lower attaching points.......which doesn't matter anyway, because the cargo tiedown isn't located properly to be used with LATCH anyway.
That's interesting........if I believed your inaccurate information, I could then consider my car to be a factory freak with a government-mandated accessory that was installed two model years before it was required.

My owner's manual is readily available as a .pdf online, but I thought I'd scan my actual owner's manual....specifically the page that explains the child seat latches.

One more note: These cars were built in Canada. That is why the hard point was in earlier than required in the US. It was required in Canada!

you can also use the hook to tie the fuel pump to just in case you **** up, let go of it and it drops in. but thats when you do the trap door method.

the kids can just get hog tied to the T top pillar.

The bolt for the tie down hook, does it go into a welded nut or will the nut fall out if the bolt is removed?
