I think the appeal of a Twin Screw blower draws me to them.
As for the guy saying where did I get 15k from my ***, have you ever built a car from the ground up. If you think you just slap a turbo kit on a NA car and go you need to read the sticky at the top of the FI forum or build one as I have. if and when I build this car it will not be slapped together or cob jobbed. I will be building the rear, tranny, shortblock etc... to be somehwat reliable.
As far as where I got 5k for modding the cobra from, any one I have looked at usually has full boltons, cooling mods susp etc.... I found 2 diff KB 2.2's for 2400. Inj, BAP, tuning etc... and I am right around 5 k. Who the hell has a stock Cobra anymore.
I am leaning towards just picking up a D1SC kit, installing with the cam headers etc... I already have in my closet and running it with 100 octane at around 550 rwhp and pray it holds for a few months atleast. I will then check around to see if it is cheaper to have the shortblock built by a local shop or just purchase a shortblock from a vendor.
To be honest I have driven Cobras before and hate everything about the interior ergonomics. I just had to move my cousins this weekend and once I got in I was like what the **** is this cluster **** of a layout. It has the MGW shifter and I still had to reach a mile for the shifter and I am 6 foot tall.

I think you have your decision. I just got used to mine and now I prefer it. When I got back in my Camaro, I was like WOW, I cant tell where the dash ends and the nose begins. They are just so different.

SS's are not a dime a dozen, do a search on auto trader for 98-02 SS and 03-04 cobra and see which one has more listings at any distance and that's 5 years of production versus 2. Alot of late model fbodies are gone now from wrecks and being parted out.

And for the threadstarter, if you're thinking of buying one to go fast, I'd do some research about modding them as some have mentioned above. It's not slap a KB/Whipple on and ride, supporting mods still have to be done too. Since you've already got one, you might as well build a 347 with about 9:1 CR, get a D1 Procharger/fuel system/12-bolt/suspension/good clutch, make 700+rwhp and have fun.
Looking at unit213's Cobra makes me want to edit the above. Thats one badass cobra

Now, that being said, yes, the Camaro SS is FAR more common than the 03-04 Mustang Cobra. The original poster's car has some interesting history, but from the outside it looks just like the other million running around just like his. The Cobra isn't extremely rare by any means, but its production numbers are far lower than those of the Camaro SS.
Trust me, a Terminator will command more respect from true enthusiasts...

-Keep the SS or grab an 03 Cobra????
-Is paying extra for WS6 Worth It?
-Need help deciding....need some diff opinions...Z06 or SS/WS6?
-Gas vs Diesel
-C5 Z06 or 98-02 Firehawk?
Nearly every thread you have ever chimed into in your amazingly brilliant and insightful 202 post tenure at this site has been a pissing match. You live to do argue with others about their personal preferences. You provide NO technical information, you help no one, you have no friends at all on this site and you contribute absolutely nothing.
Let me spell it out for you:
1.) Nobody likes you. That is painfully clear. All you have to do to see this is go through your posts and see all the people quoting you and arguing with you.
2.) You contribute nothing positive to this website at all. You have no knowledge to spread and no one has ever benefited from you being a member on this site.
3.) If you never log onto LS1TECH and make another post, we as a community would be better off at best, exactly the same at worst. No one would even know you were gone.
But I'm an embarrassment. It's not like I haven't taken many, many hours out of my life to help dozens of people over the years or anything. I guess those wasted hours were in my mind, along with all the other things I prove to myself in my own mind.
Thanks.
Anyway, I voted for the SS. I like Terminators and all, but I'd rather have a 35th anniversary SS than any Mustang, outside of a first generation model or something of course

As i stated earlier the 5k figure came from buying an already modded Cobra which all are nowadays ie cooling mods, exhaust, drivetrain, susp etc.... and adding inj, BAP, KB etc..... I would not buy one and start from scratch. My cousin's Cobra had only the Whipple w140ax, x-pipe, stingers, fuel mods, MAF and tuning and made 621 rwhp 578rwtq. not to mention fully built Cobras can be had for 25k. My cousin bought his for 25k and sold it for 26k. There are several built Cobras on SVT Performance right now for this price. He links them to me every day trying to get me to change sides.
Either way I prefer the SS in every way but will prob still buy an 03 Cobra when I pay the SS off next yr.
