Default lt1 radiator into ls1

can i use the lt1 radiator in my ls1?

many people say yes its a direct fit but some say there are extra holes to plug. i dont really have access to shop materials so i need a DIRECT FIT.

so what all would i have to do to put the lt1 radiator in my 99?

i've done several searches, all with conflicting information, thats why id like to know the consensus. i cant find the thread from last month about lt1 ls1 radiators,

from what i've read, there are evidently a few extra holes in the lt1 radiator that should be plugged. i could not find any specific information.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=5888404

dunno if that link works, but i cant dessiminate anything useful.

68birdls1, i cant find the thread your refering too, could you possibly link me?

ill take cragger's word for it and see what happens, i plan on getting a visteon replacement lt1 for a m6 and using my external cooler for the trans, i hope thats enough for my 3600vig

I closed off the tranny lines since the BeCool was for an A4 LT1, but no big deal what-so-ever....easy as pie bro!

Peace,

so u put an a4 in your m6? i guess if im going to use my external cooler for the trans i should just get an m6lt1 radiator and bypass it all,

how did you close of the ends? use hose then clamp it? i dont have any experience with this kinda stuff.

i must confess,

i put the hole in the radiator by using a screw to hold down my air lid

=(

LMAO! ...sorry, thats funny.

It was a little hard to get a pic of the 2nd closed off hole for the tranny, but its just a stud really. I dunno about bypassing it, you might want to ask that in the A4 tranny section. I don't have A4's, so I can't speak from experience from that but I can say that the more coolers the better.

But here you go:

Peace,
Craig.
