I raced my stock 98 trans am (base model w/ original motor and nothing but cut-out and lid) against a 02 trans am (also base model w/ cut-out and lid) he pulled me by a nose, drivers were basically the same, we switched cars and the result was the same the 02 would always pull by a nose...

Both cars will produce similar horse power numbers and torque ratings, so it really all depends on the driver, it is not a matter of which car is faster, it is a matter of who the better driver is.

The Camaro will be faster. Camaro's got 70hp boost over Trans Am's. Bigger cams, more valves and an extra cylinder.

Cocamaro?! Geez NooB it's CAcamaro
And like the guys were saying, same freaking car different body panels. That's all there is to it. Nothing more. Same engine, trans, rearend, suspension. Same car.
98' bigger cam, smaller injectors, crappier heads.
99+ smaller cam, bigger injectors, better heads.
01-02 LS6 intake, better rod bolts, smaller cam, bigger injectors, ls6 heads, some ls6 blocks, !EGR, ls6 clutch, better flowing exhaust manifolds.

98-99 = bigger cam, same heads, same exhaust manifolds
00-02 = smaller cam
98, 01-02 = bigger injectors
01-02 = better exhuast manifolds, SOME LS6 blocks, all LS6 intakes, LS6 clutch + hydralics, !EGR
98 = shitty computer
This has been beat down many times, 98-99 are usually slowest stock, 00 is in the middle, and 01-02's are usually a lil quicker (by a nose like the other guy said)

WOW some of you guys kill me, the cam size and injectors isnt goin to make a difference on a stock car. The only thing that might yeild a few more is the exhaust manifolds but still your talkin 1-3 HP some of the LS1 engines varried more then that. What it comes down to is its the SAME CAR. Its like a eclipse and a talon SAME car different names. Just b/c a T/A costs more dont make it better.
