you tried welding it? try tacking it in place, then lay a bead down and helicoil the hole

What cam did you go with for the 408? Maby my block will fail and I can get a 408.

You could take the engine and aluminum piece to a good welding shop and have it welded on with a TIG welder. You would need to drill and re-tap the hole, but it would be strong. Aluminum is easy to work with. However, since you've purchased an engine, I guess this is moot.

Its a nice problem to have, unfortunately the timing wasnt the best. i was hoping to purchase the block when i wanted to, not when i had to. I just have a small cam in there for now until i can afford to upgrade the fuel system

I plan on doing that after i drop in the 408, then i'll sell my stock shortblock to get a lil bit of the money back
