I have read that it has to do with a dealer in FL getting a deal with SCC. I think my car is one of those. It has the sticker, the SCC hood and factory 3.23 gears (A4). My car was bought in FL. (as well where I live) Is it true that a dealer did this? If they did would they have changed the suspension. I have had a few people get excited over it(not as many who used to love my old GTA) but is it anything important or should I treat it as it was a normal TA?

WS7? WS6 was a factory package that included a ram air hood, wider tires, stiffer suspension and special wheels and badging. WS7 was never an option from GM. There are WS7 badges out there people buy and put on WS6 clones. Check this out http://www.lastofthebreed.com/Indexmain.htm . Generally people just change the hood and add the WS7 badging. The WS6 is unique (and holds a higher value), but is still just a higher priced TA.

I did a quick search and came up with this information. Everything I've read on this site indicates that WS7 doesn't exist. It's just a badge people like to put on their v6 birds that have appearance upgrades that they self installed, in effect a poor mans WS6. Search around the site and I'm sure you'll find something more specific to your question. Hate to be the barer of bad news but it seems you've got a normal t/a. Not that that's a bad thing at anyrate.
WS9 - model conversion, Formula
Y84 - model conversion, T/A
W66 - merchandised package, Formula
WS6 - performace package
The WS9 code is what told the factory to make your car a Formula, the W66 is the code that told the factory what standard options to put in/on your car. In other words, the WS9 code told them to take the V6 out of the car and put the V8 in, while the W66 code told them to put the Formula decals and rims on the exterior and the standard interior items into the car that came on a Formula.

IIRC the WS7 badge is from Sunoco Creations. Its not a GM car. Its an appearance package they sold that made a regular TA look like a WS6. But in an effort to not upset the purists that dont believe in clones, they called it the WS7. Its nothing special.
I believe the WS7 was the RPO code back in the early 80's? Now its the WS6.

"WS9 is the Formula conversion Pkg
W66 is the Formula Merchandise Pkg
Y82 is the Trans Am Merchandise Pkg
All the V8 cars carry the WS9 Code, To be a Formula or Trans Am it must have the coresponding code aswell.
WS9 + W66 = Formula
WS9 + Y82 = Trans Am
WS9 + W66 + WS6 = Formula WS6
WS9 + Y82 + WS6 = Trans Am WS6"
Check RPO codes on the driver's door.

The answer to the OPs question is "no," that I am aware. Unlike Blackbirds, etc., there were no production runs of 5, 10 or greater of WS7s that I have heard. A lot of places make WS7 badges. A lot of people put them on Firebirds/T/A's/WS6's. A couple places that I think puts them on cars that no one mentioned is MTI, and I think LPE.
So, no, whoever put them on the car, it's not a widely recognised "dealer"-type optioned car.
