It's always better to hit the deer. They'll do less damage than a forest, and it will be easier to prove that the accident was not your fault. My mom has hit something like 5 or 6 deer, so I've heard what the insurance companies have to say about deer hits plenty of times.

I think we should all become deer hunters!!! Just lost mine because of a deer two weeks ago - swerved to miss the deer, ran over some road kill and lost control ended up dropping 6' + into a ditch and then into a couple of trees. Been loading shells in preparation for deer season here............ Still fighting with insurance over it
