Default Selling modified cars? (legal question)

So out of all the offers I finally found someone that actually has money and wants to buy my car this weekend. Now I told him about the catalyctic converter situation (not having any) but I'm including two brand new cats with the sale. Is there any way this could come back and bite me in the *** legally by selling a car with no cats? I was about to have them put on but he wants the car this weekend, and I'm short on money as it is.

nope as long as you cover your bases. print up a paper saying car is sold as is with the following etc... and both of you sign it and you should be cool.

If you bought the car used I wouldnt worry about it, IF anything ever was to happen I would just be like "it was like that when I got it" but I doubt anything could ever come back to you

Sold as is means exactly that. As is.
