Default header questions please help!!

i know this has been talked about before but i cant seem to find what i am looking for in the search. i am about to buy a set of LTs and dont know what is the best set to get. i know that the pacesetters are about the best deal around but i have heard very good things about the KOOKS and the HOOKER headers. money set aside what is the best set of hearers for the F-Body? what is about the average HP gains of LTs? is there any bennifit of coughing up the extra cash for the KOOKS over the pacesetters??

I'd vote for the SLPs. Because even though there are some clearance issues,.. they're equal length pipes to the collector whereas others aren't. (hence, the reason for the clearance issue)

-SLP
-KOOKS
-SW
-QTP

Honestly,.. It really depends on you. I mean with those 4 your gonna end up cough'n up roughly 800+ for those LTs. The quality is great! But the HP gain on those over something like Pacsetters is minimal. If you hand over the dough for those then is more for piece of mind.

Oh,.. if you live in an area where your baby deals with allot of moister,.. get something ceramic coated to help keep em from rusting.

cool thank you. it sounds like for the money maybe the $400 pacesetters are going to be a better value then the $800+ others if there is not much performance difference between them. one other question. what kind of trouble am i going to run in to with a ORY and a 1.75" drop all around? the car is already very very low. is it even possible to run a ory with that kind of drop?

Pacesetters tuck up pretty good and aren't any worse than stock. But the SLP's are very low.

Pacesetters are easy to install, cheap, make great power.

Around ~25 is what I gained on my 01 Z28, 05 GTO...not sure on this car as I have not had it dynoed.

As you can see by my signature..I've used them on all my cars...and in the 12s consistently with very few mods.

That really depends on how you drive. If you drive like a jackass then you'll scrape regardless!

Well,.. question, ... are you adding an additional 1.75 to your current ride hight OR are you going for an overall drop of 1.57 from stock hight.

Never known anyone to own 3 cars that run almost identical times and trap speeds.

Personally I love my SLPs(3" ORY" because of the equal length...Clearance hasen't been a problem so far...Number wise I'm not much help because car hasen't been dynoed...But you can feel a difference

I'm in the 108 MPH club...actually I also had a 2002 Mustang GT to run 12.5 @ 108mph, but didn't want to put that in my signature

I agree...go find the biggest speed bump you can in your city...and stop on it to measure clearance.

But like I said earlier..Pacesetters are pretty good about hugging up close to the car like the stock pipes.

Gotcha. ..Did you do a dyno tune before and after the LTs? Kind of curious what numbers pacesetters ran.

I love how people are usually soo quick to point out the clearance issues. I usually tell em that "...SLP made em like that for a reason" and I'll hear "Yea,.. cuz their retarded!" as the retraction. IDIOTS!!

ya it is real low. the springs were advertised at 1.75" i am not so sure i got that much drop though but it is close. the car has the exact same stance as the PRO KIT that my friends have on there cars. and no it dose not scrape much right now only on very steep turns in to some parking lots i have to hit them sideways. but i also still have they GAY stock flay Y pipe on the car.

Well,.. honestly,... if you feel confident that you can drive over speed-bumps and all around city driving on a regular with that ride hight and LTs to boot,... then go for it.
