what cars came with the stock Hurst shifter? did all M6 cars come with them or was it only WS6/SS's?

 

All cars did not come stock with Hurst. Only certain packages came with them.

how would i go about telling if the car i'm getting has one? its a base 2002 TA.

 

it was an option. if you got the hurst it shuld have an h on the handle. unless it was changed. also the hurst you can feal shifting into gears, kinda knotchy, the gm peice is exactlt that a peice of ****. ive had both, have the hurst know and it shifst alot better.

 

what does the stock shifter look like? not the **** but the stick

im sure there will be an option coad on the door. ill look around and see if i can find out what the coad is.
and check the hight of the stick if the bottom of the handle is real close to the counsel then it probly was changed to a short stick, but that doesnt mean that it doesnt have the hurst shifter.

 

Option code on the door is BBS. I have the Hurst shifter as an option on my Base 2000 Trans Am. Mine did look like the pic above, but that stick was rancid. Bought a WS6store Short stick and it leaps and bounds above the factory Hurst stick. (FWIW.)

I like the UMI short stick unit. It has an angle cut into to so its pretty hard to miss third.
