It's funny that you chimmed in... I actually bought this car after seeing a picture of your car... I was on the fence regarding which color I wanted and I love the NBM now that I have seen it in person....

Mod that one! I bought my 02 WS6 with 25k on it back in Feb of 05, and now it's got heads/cam/n2o.

Now if you were talking about stripping out the interior, etc, etc, and making it a full out trailer queen drag car, then no, I wouldn't ruin this nice a car.

You could always set your numbers matching 14k mileage engine off to the side of the garage under cover and replace w/ another to mod. LS1's have gotten cheap...

I see no reason why that car shouldn't be modded. I say go for it.

I bought my car with 25k on it. I only wanted a cat back and it has kept rollin from there. Id say go for it. Just keep all of the original stuff. Thats what I do. And I rack up the most miles drivin it to the track every once in a while. Otherwise it just sits and goes 30 miles here and there.

dude... it's not THAT rare of a car, and the milage isnt that bad either. Mod your car, just keep the stock parts in case you decide to sell it

Don't get a high mileage and expect it to last long with a new cam. Your internals will begin to wear and you will need to forge the internals very quickly. You may want to just keep her the way she is. Although you are on a MODIFICATION site afterall.

The car in my sig. is being modded. I had a big thread about in when i got it back in June. Everyone convinced me that you only live once so you might as well have your car just the way you want it. No sense in savin it for someone else while we jus keep getting older and older...

like the others said, mod it, and keep the stock parts so that if u you ever sell you can bring it back to stock. my dad bought his '01 cobra (hes still pissed that they added the s/c in 03) new off the floor and its only got 6k miles on it completely stock. ive been trying to get him to do minor mods to it, and keep the stock parts.

I have a lower mileage (for the year) LS1 car than yours. My '98 is at 14k miles, and is staying stock (other than lid/catback). My 72k mile '02 car will eventually wind up heavily modded.

Why would you need forged internals for a cam?

This site is FULL of cam and heads/cam cars doing just fine without forged stuff.

Exactly. What good does it do you to not modify the car and enjoy it how you want? If you could have another car then it could be rewarding to keep this as a show car but you're driving it anyways so why not have some fun? Use the low mileage condition to your advantage. Don't tear it up and you'll never know the difference minus those damn numbers on that dash that you'll be staring at every time you drive! ;-) I bought my car with under 19k miles and the only thing I regret over the past 10k is little things from daily driving as well as not going all out and buying the best parts.
If you choose your mods wisely (driveability) and don't be cheap when it comes to doing it right then I say mod away and enjoy the car even more. They're awesome from the factory but they only perform better and better.

I see nothing wrong with it. My car had 11,337 miles when I yanked the burnt LS1 out and replaced it with the 6.0. Mine was a nitrous induced replacement. Mod it as you would any other I say.
