Are the Monsoon CD players notorious for going out?

I have seen this happen on several head units that are going bad. I don't know the reason for it but for what ever reason they get picky about what cd's they play and one day they won't play a cd and the later in the day they might.

I see. So, I have no choice. I was hoping I could get out of it somehow. lol.

Never had a problem with mine! It only skips if I go over a bump!

You guys still play CDs with your monsoon? If you get them wired to Ipod you don't have to worry about your monsoon skipping when playing CDs.

for the record mine works fine unless its below 40* then the interior has to warm up before it will work....BUT if there is already a cd loaded it will play.

There are a few kits out there that will let you hook up your Ipod to Monsoon. Matter of fact, I bought one from Best Buy.

^i did some searching and found that no kit will work for my 98', so i just bought a pioneer premeir head unit that does it all for less than most of those kits.

mine does it every once and awhile. it will skip or not recognize the disk but i use my ipod most of the time anyway so its not a big deal for me.

is the ipod thing somethin you can do yourself, i want one bad i hate the radio transmitters. i have a zune but im assuming itll work on either. also how much was the one from best buy?
