They did come with t-tops... It could be a fun car. If the owner is near you, put it on a rack and have a trusted mechanic look for dammage. Also, a compression test would be a PITA, but it could identify major engine problems. Lastly, none of my friends or myself would buy a firehawk. We drive Trans Ams because it is a Trans Am. I know they are all firebirds, but not all firebirds are a Trans Am...

The Firebird I would buy is extremelly fun to drive and has caused my dad no problems. Is'nt the Firehawk basically the same thing as a Trans Am? I have not done much research on Firehawks because I never thought I'd see one I could afford.

Some were Trans Ams. Some were formulas. It really depends on the year and what Firehawk # you have. To me, a firehawk is no longer a trans am due to its badging, but they are essentially the same car. Growing up, I always wanted a Trans Am. I know its silly and badging really shouldn't matter, but it does to me and my friends it does.

Another thing to consider is the cost of replacement parts. If you want to keep it a "numbers matching" car, then the hawk might hold more value, but specific parts may be impossible to find. I would think the bird would be cheaper to replace parts on in the long run.
