Default lookin at an SS, what do you think?

wanting to get a camaro, and like the looks of an SS so im mainly lookin for one of them. this one is for sale locally,

1998 Camaro SS 60,000 miles

Asking 13500 but car must go. This car is garage keep and drivin on sunny days only.

LS1 V8 Engine with 6 speed manual Trans w/ hurst shifter

Silver with T-top roof

Custom Cat back exhaust with magna-flow muffler

Sub-frame Conectors

he sent me some pics and the car looks nice. hows that price? silver would be my first choice for colors so thats definitely a plus

sounds like a decent deal. silver is def. a good color.... I would try and talk him down to at least 12..... if he says no, then tell him to give you a call if he doesn't sell the car in two weeks

i don't know the blue book on them but i bought min back in april it was a 99 ss pewter(the silver color you speak of) for $10,000 it had like 85,000 mi. so 13,000 i don't think is too bad

but define custom
does it have any aftermarket headers
do the t tops leak?

and you say he sent you pics i would go look at the car before any decisions were made cause if i was trying to sell a car i would on'y send pics of the better parts of the car

but good luck hope this helps

That's a little high. I paid $13K for my 2000 SS A4 last Dec with 33K miles. I wouldn't pay more than $10-11K for a 98 SS with 60K.

thanks for the help guys, im going to ask some more questions (good call on t-tops!) and exhaust and see what the deal is. i really dont have more than $10k to spend anyways, and thats even pushing it. hopefully he'd be willing to come down some if it ends up being the car i want

I would talk the price down a bit...I bought my '99 SS in 2003 with 17,000 miles for $16,000.

With 60k miles you should be able to get it for $11k, IMO.

hmmm. I wonder why the shifter is on backwards. I'd try to get a lower price though. I wouldn't spend more than 10K, personally.

yea it seems like a base model SS, Me personally would rather have a loaded Z then a base SS. I would see what else it doesnt have from the pics it dont have leather, probally no power seats, no ASR. Looks like it was well taken care of but I wouldnt give more then 10-11 for it

It's a rare car. It has the red accent interior (see the red pattern on the seats).

Only 1,495 Camaros came with that in '98 (including V6, SS, and Z28). Probably very few SSs came with that option.

I like the cloth interior better anyway. The F-body leather doesn't hold up very well with age.
