my 2000 has a june '00 build date and has 241 heads, 241's had a different casting technique than 853's (241=die cast, 853=sand cast), hence the reason for smoother chambers, again only 3-5 hp diff at most, sorry you missed out on a good buy, good luck and happy hunting!

I had a hunch that die casting vs. sand casting was the major difference...thanks.

There is zero performance difference between the '99-'00 853 head and the '98 806 head. Only the 241 head has a *slight* advantage in stock form (maybe 3-5hp).

Ok guys back to the original thread lol. the owner was out of town and i got a vin to run a carfax. Going to be checking that out and giving him a call to see it tuesday. What i do like about this car is its in my price range if negiated down a little of course,SS,6sp,low miles,donts are tan leather int. lol pretty much can deal with the other stuff we talked about.any one like there tan leather?

You can swap that interior. Look for someone who just went to a black and ha their gray for sale or fight for the black. Everyone wants the ebony interior. Me too! lol
