In the summer I don't worry too much about letting it warm up...but I won't beat on it if the operating temps aren't up. In fall I always let it warm up for a couple mins.

I usually let my '02 car warm up for about 3 hours, or until the piston slap stops, whichever comes first. Usually the 3 hour period is up first.

'02 LS1s = diesels!

I let it idle for a few min, then slowly drive it not putting to much pressure on the drivetrain untill its warmed up.

Garaged in AZ

My car doesn't know the meaning of the word "warm-up" unless it was sitting in a parking lot baking

And that's what most car manufacturers will tell you to do in the owner's manuals...

Good thing it's got a remote start so I start it up about five minutes before I go out in the mornings. That's usually the only time I'll warm it up in the first start of the day.

I've only got a V6 but I'd do the same with an LS1. In the winter I let it warm up a couple minutes before going anywhere, in the summer I just get in and go after letting it idle a few seconds. My V6 is a little picky on the cold anyway, right at startup if I touch the gas it shakes and shivers instead of revving so I have to let it warm up. My old beater wasn't quite as sensitive but it wasn't happy on a cold morning either.
