I usually let my '02 car warm up for about 3 hours, or until the piston slap stops, whichever comes first. Usually the 3 hour period is up first.

I let it warm up if it's the first start of the day...If I have ran the SS during the day,she pretty much gets started,I hook up my seat belt,set the radio then go.Keeping the rpms a little low until fully warm.
Good thing it's got a remote start so I start it up about five minutes before I go out in the mornings. That's usually the only time I'll warm it up in the first start of the day.
ALWAYS!! Usually for atleast 2 min then keep the rpms low untill fully warmed up. She will buck on me if not warmed up...Im like this with all cars/bikes Ive owned except my beater Honda, lol.
I've only got a V6 but I'd do the same with an LS1. In the winter I let it warm up a couple minutes before going anywhere, in the summer I just get in and go after letting it idle a few seconds. My V6 is a little picky on the cold anyway, right at startup if I touch the gas it shakes and shivers instead of revving so I have to let it warm up. My old beater wasn't quite as sensitive but it wasn't happy on a cold morning either.
here in the central valley it's gettin colder so i let her warm up for at least 4 1/2 minutes. i drive 30 miles one way 30 miles back on highway so i ease up to 65mph and just set cruise control and chill
