Default Thermostat question?

I have a 02 SS and its basicly stock. My question is would it be ok to put a 160 t-stat in?

If you tune, no. Doesn't make big difference.

In cold enviroment, you will use more fuel.

Well as of right now i live in Hawaii so I dont have to worry about the cold. I heard if I just get my fans to come on at a lower temp I should be good? True or no?

it would be ok to go with a lower temp Tstat but in order to make sure it operates the way it should you need to reprogram your fans for the new T stat. Now if you add a 160 T stat and leave the fans alone will it blow your engine? No but it wont be operating together the way it should

We install a 160° thermostat in mostly every car we modify. As mentioned - just make sure you tune the car so the fans come on at a lower temperature.
