I have owned 6 LS1 cars in my life. 5 of them F-Bodies. My current Formula takes her time to crank over. Sometime the battery even dies. I don't think its starter/fuel pump related. The car does have alot of miles. I looked at the battery cables tonight and the cleaned them but its still slow to crank over. Anyone elses car slow to crank over?

hell yea. Especially lately. It takes a few turns and then i sometimes have to take the key out and try it again and THEN it starts!!! It's even died a couple of times from trying to start. I dont know what it is. And right now, the weirdest thing just happened. The alarm goes crazy whenever i lock up the car. I walk away and then a few seconds later, the alarm goes off!!! i tried just locking it manually by pushing the locks on the door and then when i walked away, the alarm went off again! it seems possessed! so luckily i live in a nice neighborhood and im just going to leave it unlocked.

mine's quick to start in this weather, though I'm running 0w40 oil to keep the cold oil from hampering it at startup.
I'd go with rotted cables (can happen), poor condition starter, plug issues (gap a bit on the large size or just incorrect), coils or wires (could be arcing a bit).
Check the easy stuff first, the wire is tough to check, but with it on a hoist you can better see the condition.

Could also be related to a worn ignition switch? My bro's 99 z28 does the same thing and often trips the secruity light.
My t/a had to have a few switches installed before my ownership, and the security light is now perma-on. (Figure I'll take out the bulb)
But its supposedly common and something to look at.

Well I found part of my problem. I took off the positive battery cover and the bolt and wire were corroded to hell. Brought a new bolt and cleaned the positive line. The car is alot easier to start up now but still cranks a little slower than I'm used to
