Default Best place to install a cutout?

Whats the best place to put a electronic cutout on fbodies exhausts? As in what would (if it makes a difference that is) produce the loudest sound, maybe help out gas mileage not like I care anyways about that, and if it helps give power? or not hurt torque bottom end so much. Just whats all around the best place to put it up on the exhaust, this is 1single cutout btw. Thanks

I thought of that but then do you only have 1ehxuast tip out back? I wanna keep my stock tips on so it just looks like a normal stock exhaust. If you put a cutout there, doesn't ur right exhaust tip go away then? or am I thinking to far back

you're thinking too far back. Just look under your car and the spot on the I-pipe will be crystal clear

Do you have it wired up yet? How did you do it?

havent wired mine yet (due to me not having nuts) but here is the gist of what you need to do

heres a short write up (hope it helps)

grommet

wires go through grommet i would suggest a small hole using a box cutter to keep a good seal.

make the hole just big enough to get the wire through i would go form inside the vehicle rather than out side to keep from having to pull the wires all the way through

then underneath the carpet to the front of the vehicle. you can place the switch anywhere my choice would be in front of the ashtray or anywhere in that area

then wire the ground anywhere you can find one

wire the power wire to the cigarette lighter and you should be good to go

Why did your carpet burn? Are you saying somehow the wire coming up from the cutout under the car was getting hot???

the exhaust gases exiting the pipe, even out of the I-pipe, are not hot enough to singe anything

Mine is right about under the passenger seat/rear passenger floor boards. No issues with the floor getting hot.

i like the placement at the elbow, you arn't going to have ground clearance issues and still get that great dumped sound

I have mine right before my muffler on the I-pipe, Never had any problems with it. The higer you place the more it will effect the low end torque

I just installed mine almost exactly the same as you. One thing that I noticed though is the wiring hangs down right in the path of the hot exhaust gas. Have you had any problems with this?
