Last week I went to a local dealer and test drove a 2004 Corvette. Overall, fantastic feeling/looking car. Thing is though, when i really got on it in the 'Vette, it didn't feel as fast or brutal/violent/raw as my 02' z28. I honestly like the feeling of my Z better than the Corvette. *maybe the newer C6's feel faster?* Thoughts?

i agree that the Z28's feel more brutal but that's why they are a poor mans sports car
kidding i love F-Body's. the Vette is more refined then the F-body. But now go take an fbod up to 150+ and then a Vette and see what feels more stable. Also go pull up to a group of Kids and see which one gets the most attention
it's just somethin' about a Vette. Although i wouldn't mind having a nice black SS in my stable

A Corvette is a refined sports car. A Camaro is a raw muscle car. The only thing they really share is an engine and transmission.
This is how it's been for the last 20 years. This is why I don't feel that the cars are comparable; they satisfy two different feelings/categories for different hobbiests.
Same year/same trans type F-body vs C5 will feel basically the same in terms of straight line acceleration. They run nearly the same 1/4 times on average, with the C5 having just a tad more MPH due to weight and aerodynamics. But when comparaing a C6 to an F-body, the C6 should always feel faster, because it is.![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
Edit: Personally, I've never been much of a Vette guy, because I like the raw, old school feel of the F-body. And I've never liked C5s, even after trying my best to when shopping for one years ago. But the C6 is different; that's one Vette that I'd eventually like to own.

When I went car shopping....I was looking at C5s SSs and WS6s....I ended up with an SS. I drove a few C5s, and I love their looks, but didnt like the feel inside. Cramped and such...but its to be expected. I guess what Im saying is dont get a Vette just cause it is one...I like the "Street Brawler" image of an F-Body.
