How much does it take to spin the wheels on the freeway?With an A4.

Its not like i want to do it..... it was just a question. just wondering. Cuz if i want to spin them i will. I would just do figure eight in a parkin lot.... just a harmless curious stupid question

If that is the question, I have your answer...stock will do it. My wife's A4 will do it at the right speed. I believe it is just above 55 (maybe right around 60). I had some guy in a ricer wanting to go one day. When I nailed it, the tires chirped/spun a few rotations and it took off. Her car has stock size BFG Z rated tires so they are pretty sticky, but not oversized. If you have different gears, tire size, etc this will obviously change.

and you are a stand up guy for trying to help. i just get confused when some poor guy gets flamed for thinking he looks like elvis "harmless" and then we try to help someone break their tires loose on the freeway "reckless".

WTF is with people wanting to have no traction. If you have no traction at highway speeds then bad things can happen.
1). You could lose races.
2). You could lose control of the car.
3). You could end up injured or dead.
What you should be wanting is enough power to make you happy with enough suspension/tires to keep you safely planted.
But to answer your question you'll want to have a big stall (4000-4400) and even then you probably need 375+ rwhp (heads/cam/bolt ons). Then keep your suspension stock with street tires. Finally, make sure you go from your 2nd gear downshift sweetspot. That varies depending on gears. For me with 3.23's a 60-70 mph punch is a nice place to go from.
But again, I think you're much better off looking for a combonation that pins you straight back in your seat rather then one that makes you shift sideways in it while you head towards a ditch or tree.
But that's just me.

My car with the mods in sig will break loose at anything below 35 if i punch it! I must say all this does is **** me off and make races that should be a walk, a close one. I agree that you want the right combo of power and traction. Thats why i love my mickey's a 1.67 sixty foot and say bye bye!

Put on some 185 diameter tires. You'll spin with stock power 
I can do it at 30 mph with bolt-ons and a nice 275 width tire and 3.42 gears, so I can tell you you'll need quite a bit more power to do it at 60 mph.

I've got 205 tires on since it's winter up here. Though it's not an auto, I'm breaking loose the tires at 60mph with too much ease... As soon as I get the RPM to about 3500rpm, I get that uneasy feeling in the back. My suspension's setup to keep the car straight though so getting squirrley at 60+mph isn't as bad as it was stock.
Stock suspension + stock power + worn/cold/wet tires = back end going faster than the front end a lot quicker than you think, even with an auto. Dry + 60F+ and it's really dependent on the tire you've got. El cheapo Z rated tires may find you breaking loose at 60mph if you punch it in an auto, by the same token some really good street tires may have you bogging down. I'd take bogging down due to traction anyday over wheel spin.
