How much does it take to spin the wheels on the freeway? With an A4.

I don't know the answer, but I would keep in mind this is going to change based on tires, weight, road conditions, etc.
It is possible, but I don't think it is a simple answer of HP and TQ.

i dont even know why you guys are entertaining this question. there is no way anyone could come up with an exact horsepower number. "spinning tires" is a good way to lose a race. or maybe he is doing it to show off his power. sounds kind of ricer to me.

WTF is with people wanting to have no traction. If you have no traction at highway speeds then bad things can happen.
1). You could lose races.
2). You could lose control of the car.
3). You could end up injured or dead.
What you should be wanting is enough power to make you happy with enough suspension/tires to keep you safely planted.
But to answer your question you'll want to have a big stall (4000-4400) and even then you probably need 375+ rwhp (heads/cam/bolt ons). Then keep your suspension stock with street tires. Finally, make sure you go from your 2nd gear downshift sweetspot. That varies depending on gears. For me with 3.23's a 60-70 mph punch is a nice place to go from.
But again, I think you're much better off looking for a combonation that pins you straight back in your seat rather then one that makes you shift sideways in it while you head towards a ditch or tree.
But that's just me.

What difference does it make clubber lang. This is a general discussion like the forum says. So if he wants to talk about what it takes to spin his tires in whatever kind of condition then he can. Why is it ricer?
Anyway...what are your mods? Your gonna need intake, exhaust, maybe some gears, tune, cam, and some other misc things to get up to the power level to be able to get squirly at higher speeds. Hard compound tires are gonna be easier to spin of course cuz they don't stick as well. But if you can spin a set of sticky BFG's then I'd be impressed.

Ya that's a good point darrensls1. I'm personally not worried about spinning my tires at higher speeds cuz it's just not safe. I gotta say I do love my TCS because it keeps me from losing it in the rain no matter how easy I drive the car. Get some sticky tires and have some fun with your bolts. I do hate it when people complain about how much they spin but they made over 500 hp with their honda. All that power and it don't even make it to the damn ground. What's the point? I wanna go fast not spin through 4th and 5th gear lol

Pewter02WS6: the reason i am pissed is because this is just as bad or worse than the never original "how do i beat X car". those threads get locked. so should this. at least the bench racing is talking about racing, not spinning tires on the freeway. no anger towards you though.

I guess i am just phrasing everything the wrong way. I ment like a chirp. Because of the power. Because when i had a stick before it chirped into third but i know the A4 is Different.
