I don't know how either, and I swear this site is getting retarded....."leave MAF screen in, no K&N, sub-frame connectors are not worth it." This site is doing a 180* and staying closer to stock. Fine for me, makes me look even faster with my sfc'ed k&n'ed de-screen'ed maf car flys past these guys. "DON'T GO STROKER....VERY BAD hmmmmmkay?!!!!"

You are wrong, if anything the vette has more twists and turns in the filter to intake path. And the plain vettes had them but ZO6 does not because.....less restriction.

Craig.

Stock sucks, I agree - But there aren't enough intelligent reasons that have been proven to me as to why I would get off the couch, lift the hood, and de-screen my MAF.

No proven gains, and not enough reasons why I should remove a designed engineering feature of a MAF that works great.

I de-screened mine, yet did not feel any difference. Oh well hopefully my K&N keeps everything out of my motor!

Always de-screened mine ... went with a 85mm SLP MAF and kept the screen in. After my 3rd lid not properly fitting, the K&N has to be flopping loosely inside the airbox .... got the MTI clear lid now, so, I can actually see the space around it when I put my hand underneath the filter and lightly push up on it. Now, after seeing several tiny pieces of debris on the screen, I'll never de-screen another MAF.

Arrival for my new 85mm Fast Toys Perfromance lid is Monday ... hopefully it will fit better and allow the K&N to seal around the edges ... debris get in the motor without the screen if the seal isn't good.

**** the bickering. it was put there for a reason. my suggestion if you are using your car in any normal or harsh driving conditions (DD duties) leave the damn screen alone, the risk aint worth it. if you are racing, descreen it and burn some rubber.

Kind of like the air silencer, 7.5" 10-bolt, flat y-pipe, EGR (which was later removed in 01-02 cars), crappy rotors, window motors??? Those were all there for a reason too, right? Just like the air silencer, the screen is a restriction period.

Peace,
Craig.
