What about gas mileage? A fullsize truck is not the way to get improved fuel economy...unless you go with an oil burner. And what about a Ford? We build the best trucks on the road, no offense to non blue oval truckers.

Look around here in Montgomery.

Anyways, think of it this way: your T/A is like a insanely gorgeous girl with a bitchy attitude, so you dump her. And then you realize, "****, now I'm suffering without her." Do you REALLY want to let go the insanely gorgeous power of the bitchy LS1?

homerunhtr21, I get about 13/city 15/hwy and thats with 35's, 4:56's intake exhaust, and 133k on the clock...if you get a hemi screw any mileage gain you might be thinking of over 11, and this thing WILL get up and go if I want it to, keep your options open

Fair enough. When I suggested to look for an oil burner, I meant a diesel. Regardless of brand, a diesel gets much better economy than a gasser, has nearly unlimited power potential, and resale value is much better on a diesel powered truck. If a diesel is in the budget, I would check some out to see if it's even something you are interested in.

I think it's best that you sell the T/A. Obviously, you think you'd be happier overall with out it. Maybe you will, maybe you won't. But either way once you've made up your mind that the car isn't worth keeping anymore, you won't be able to be happy with it. But be prepared, after the sale you might really regret it, and hunt for another. Many of us have been there, and sadly nobody ever listens to this advice. It's something that you really need to learn for yourself.

If you're truly a muscle car/sports car fan, you're never going to be happy without one. But sometimes you don't know how much a car like this means to you until it's gone.

it seems like the OP is looking for justification of a foregone conlcusion.

just sell it, and then buy one in a nicer color.

i never liked that GM "sandy-butt-crack" or whatever it's called.

Pewter is alright. I like Silver a lot better, but Pewter is a good color for a driver, it shows less dirt than any other color.

agreed. it always looks clean.. but hey, i wash my cars once/week.

i just feel like it's a bit overdone. in the late 90's early 00s every GM vehicle was that color... and few looked OK in it.

if it was a 2500HD, that would be a different story.

my buddy has an '02 SS with 6,500 miles on it.. pewter. what a waste!

My garage queen/show car is silver, and my driver is pewter. You don't realize how different the colors really are until you see 'em next to each other.

I wouldn't want pewter for a show car, but I was actually looking for that color for the driver.
