Default Looking at 2 cars, checking out in person tomorrow

I have 2 cars on my list to go look at tomorrow, they are, first a 2001 Camaro Z28, with 108k miles, and the other is a 1998 Trans am with 120k miles. The Camaro has T-Tops, Pewter in color, 108k miles, good condition, automatic, power driver seat, power windows, alarm, single CD, cloth interior, limited slip differential, newer tires.
The trans am has new Tires, Rotors, Front and Rear Brakes, Tinted windows and the auto Transmission was just replaced as well. It has a KNN filter system, Shift kit done to the transmission as well as a cooling system, Y Cut out, Stall converter, Exhaust with Chrome tips. Its Silver.

I can get the Camaro for right around 6500 I'd say, and the trans am for close to 5k. What would you guys recommend I do?
Pontiac

Chevy

One last thing I'd love to know, is if there is any real difference between the two cars, motor wise (they are both ls1's) and what changes were made between the years.

If you only want an LS1 car and Firebird and Camaro have no significant meaning to you then get the Camaro.

It's 2001, it will have the LS6 intake, stronger rod bolts, better flowing exhaust in stock form.

the Trans Am will have slightly better seats and a bit more dressier interior trim pieces. Also pop up headlights and in general a different look.

Power wise in stock form, the 01 should dyno higher, after mods, they should be dead even with the full bolt ons. The intake and rod bolts alone are worth the extra 1k in price.

As far as which car, I say get the Z (I'm biased). Do you know what brand of converter and who rebuilt the trans?? That could help you decide. I like the idea of getting an unmodded car.

The new trans and all oil changes/maintenance was done by a local pontiac Gm dealership on the pontiac. I myself am more partial to the Trans Am body looks, especially from the rear, but if the camaro is the better choice drivetrain wise I'd opt for it over the trans am in a heartbeat.

Id say go with the 01 as mentioned above. Oh and if this is your first LS1 then bring a condom for the test drive. Because the first time you drive one I swear you'd think you just had sex with your dream girl your trembling so much.

I'd rather have a Silver Trans Am than a Pewter Z28 anyday, no matter the year or milaege.

Don't get either. Save up your money and wait for a better vehilce that has lower miles. If you had to choose I would choose the camaro

Out of the two, I would say Camaro hands down. Like previously stated, the LS6 intake and other small differences are worth the extra money. Plus it's lower mileage.

If the Camaro was properly cared for 108k miles shouldn't be a problem right? I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the Camaro at this point, its going to be my daily driver.

108k miles on that Z28 is NOTHING for an LSx motor. Neither is the 120k on the TA though either. i'd say get the Z28 for the reasons stated before. BUT since the TA is modded it's probably been beat, add more miles, and 3 years older and you start to see where that $1k-1500 is worth it~Cole~

What he said ^^^^

Although I like the looks of TAs better than Camaro, both are nice.
