Default Is a car cover ok?

I just got my car painted and I want to keep it covered to protect it from the brutal southern summer sun. It's been covered for a few days and I notice that it does get a little water under the cover after it rains. Is it bad for the paint or anything else if it's covered while being wet? Can it cause stuff to rust?

I'm not a fan of covering cars outside. I used to do that, many years ago before I had a garage. After a while, I was seeing a lot of corrosion in the engine bay.

If you want the car protected, maybe see if you can rent a local garage or something?
