Default Want to know if this is a decent price on a z28

Been looking for a higher milage Z28 for a daily driver and found this...

Its a 99 Z28 ***** red, 89k miles, pretty decent shape, has some scratchs and sounds solid. The heads and other things under the hood are showing some corioson(sp); like around the heads and all. I'm not sure what that would be from??? I tried the AC and it really didn't work too well, but other than that it seemed okay. They were asking 6500 for it. After I drive it thursday and if it seems right, I was going to throw a offer, but how low should I go?

it really depends on the seller, how much they wanna sell, if they dont know what they have etc, if you go with the 9 year old car, ac hardly works blah blah blah, Ive got 5k cash what do you think, then kinda go from there. If you low ball them too much they will just laugh at you so its kinda a guessing game

Hey I'm in NJ also. I just sold my 00 Formula that had 155k for $5700 all it had was a lid and 17" ZR1's. I think you are getting a hell of a deal even if he only goes down to like $6200 or so. I don't think i would worry too much about the corrosion under the hood. Even though i have owned 4+ higher mileage F-Bodies and the valve covers were clean. Good Luck and let us know how you make out!

Tell them that an A/C compressor is around $700 installed.

take it to a mechanic and have them check it out, it will save you lots of problems in the end.

If it's an automatic that's not that good of a price, but if it's a manual, then that's an okay deal.
