Default T-top Shades?

My car never came with the sun shades for my t-tops, and i was wondering if anyone knows how to, or if someone has a write up on how to make some. Ive been searching for a while and i can't find anything on how to make them. I know i can buy some, but i would rather make some to save money.

Make your own T-top shades? To each his/her own, of course, but are you absolutely sure you want to do that just to save maybe 30-50 bucks?

You know..., there has to be a reason why you can't find any write-ups for them.

Good luck with your project.

considering the shades are a compressed foam, they're not really that easy to make, haha

Yeah Tex im a college student, and always trying to save money. I could buy some for 40bucks from a sponsor or i could make my own. Just wondering if anyone had ever tried to make their own other than the sponsor. The sponsor is smart and is making alot of money off of it.

Im looking for answers, not looking to be criticized. "demon" Maybe if you would search for sun shade replacements you would see what i am talking about. On that note is there someone out there who isn't small minded and might be able to help me

you need a firm material, such as ABS plastic, make a template from cardboard trimming as necessary to get the desired shape then transfer the pattern to you final material. a yard of vinyl from an upholestry store can be had for as little as 5 bucks. so you could wrap it to match your interior. i just bought mine from a sponsor though, seemed easier. plus i didn't feel like doing it.

I cut my hand so bad on the edge of my shade once when I was moving them in the garage. Hurt pretty bad, the edge is sharp. I would sell you mine but I want to keep everything the car was delivered with. maybe do a wtb ad in the wanted forum. Someone might sell you thiers really cheap. Good luck.

I did that too once. It cut me pretty deep. It was like a huge paper cut.

Check ebay. Sometimes people are selling theirs since they don't use them.

Being a college student, isn't the 10 bones it would cost to make them better off spent somewhere else (pizza runs, alcohol, rubbers, etc.)?
