Default Found the WS6 I want - would you guys do this?

Found a '02 black on black WS6 M6 70k that I want to buy. Original owner car and its stock. They will let me have it for $12.8k which I know is a great deal, even though it needs a few minor things that I can fix myself. I know the seller so I know there is not a hidden problem somewhere. Here's the kicker, I still have my old car up for sale. I've been getting a few bites, a few more since I put it on autotrader on Monday. Theoretically I could be stuck with 2 car payments for who knows how long. It wouldn't make me broke, but it would be a strain to do this for 2 or 3 months. If it were you, would you chance it on the hope that my car sells soon? I really want to jump on it because I have found absolutely no decent M6 cars within 100 miles of me for a reasonable price.

IMO, knowing the seller has some value. You pretty much know what you are getting. It all comes down to how badly you want this particular year, color, options, etc. If it's what you've been looking for, look for some way to make it happen if you think the price is fair. May or may not be a long time before you find just what you want. Any chance of lowering your price for the car you're selling, to get rid of it faster? I paid 21K (plus tax...dealer had it) for an 02 Black WS6 A4 in August of 2006, 13000 miles. But it was just what I was looking for, and didn't want to let it get away.

Its pretty much what I've been looking for, right down to the color. I have lowered the price on the car that I'm selling but up until this past Monday I've only had it listed in the for sale section on car enthusiast sites like this one. Hopefully autotrader will prove its worth.

The price seems good, but you are the buyer. If it's what you want, get it.

Oh I know I want the car 100%, the question is should I get it now and take a chance on how long it takes my other car to sell.

Do it. After you pay it off, you won't even remember what you paid, just all the fun you had.

If you can afford the extra payment without too much trouble do it you will appreachate it when your car sells. Just think if you wait and your car sales and you end up looking at a red 00 with 90k miles and think I shoulda just. . . I bought mine knowing I would be in a squeeze financially for about 2 months but I now have no problems paying for it and modding to my hearts content.

If I had to go back or was in your shoes I would just get it cause if you don't you will kick yourself later.

If its what you want, which it sounds like it is, and you can afford to have both for a little bit without hurting yourself TOO much, then do it. Idk what your other car is, but once the weather gets better, it will be more likely to sell. Btw, I think that is a pretty good price for a 02 WS6.

I was kinda in your position, I was looking for a car for quite some time. Finally found a deal I couldn't pass up. My down side of getting the car is it was 15 hours away. If I was in your position I would see if the guy will hold on to it until you sell your car, give him a down payment or something. If he wont do that then jump on the bandwagon and buy it. Spring is right around the corner, the car should hopefully sell soon! Good luck, keep us updated

I did the same to get my current WS6. I ended up keeping both cars. You just can't go mod crazy. I'd say do it!

It's getting harder and harder to find well maintained T/As....if it's nice I would do it. I had a hard time finding what I wanted. I wanted a black on black WS6 M6, I found a 00 WS6 A4 last fall and paid 14k for it.....had to put a few $$$ in it too.....tires, brakes and carrier bearing. However it is in very good shape with only 47k on it. The same dealer has a 00 T/A Silver/Black A4 with 19k miles for $14,900 right now.

Well I decided I'm going to jump on it. I'm going to go check it out up close again tomorrow but I went by the bank today to make sure everything was cool with them. Looks like by this time next week I'll have myself a WS6
