Found a ws6 but...
Aight guys heres the story...I found an 01 SOM ws6 with 34,000 miles and the guy wants 15,5 for it. Now to me that sounds like a great deal. He says he has carfax and that the car is clean and that it has blac leather interior and that the car is in showroom condition. I talked to this guy for 30 min on the phone and he sounds pretty legit. He's a 63 year old man who is a big trans am guy. Now the only problem that i have with the car is that its an A4 and i really really really want an m6. now my question to you guys is how hard is it to do a tranny swap and would there be any1 wilin to trade their t-56 for a watever the a4 tranny is. and do u think it would be worht it or just to leave it? and i think the a4's come with 3.23's compared to an m6 that has 3.42's so that would need to be another upgrade. i would be lookin to upgrade to about 400rwhp to keep up with a cobra and am not real familiar with stalls and the auto tranny. So any advice on this woud be greatly appreciated.
Thanx again

Sounds like a ridiculous deal to me. I'd buy it and do the M6 swap. I couldn't care less if the car is rare; if I'm spending 15 grand on a car, I'm making sure it's what I want, whether that means modding, making changes, or just looking for a different car.
BUT, I would absolutely go down and check it out first.

looks like a kickass deal!! Just go check it out in person
having an A4 might not be as bad as you think! If you have the money to stall & cam it can be a fun car to drive and put down some strong numbers at the track. There are plenty of cam only A4 guys putting down 400rwhp on here. Good luck with it, sounds like a badass car!!

theres alot out there save yourself the headache and just buy an m6. a4's are more track consistant and you arent as likely to break stuff. stall the a4 or buy an m6 youll probably already be tied up with mods let alone doing somthing you could just buy already installed.

Alot of people are going to say..and I agree with them, thats a GREAT deal for that color. But if your looking for a m6 ur not going to be happy dude, u want a m6 get a m6 a a4 wont be the same I don't drive anything but manuals and the a4s WILL get boring after awhile especially if you wanted a m6. You can listen to people on here some who have a4s mostly will say get it but most m6 people will tell you the same im saying, wait until a m6 comes along even though thats a good deal and great color. If your looking for a m6 then hands down you gotta get a m6 or you wont be happy in the end.

Lol^^ exactly what he said. I was in the same situation when I bought my car. I wanted a m6 but couldnt pass up the deal on my a4. After I bought my stall and had it put in, I couldnt be happier. Its an unbelieveable difference.. . But, in the long run, just do whatever you think will make you happy. Your the one dropping 15g.

I would agree with the reasoning of if you want a m6 car, save the time- and the hassel n money- and get you a stick car.. Actually i read this thread- and was on racingjunk- there is a guy who has a sick 6.0 firebird thats got all the right equipment.. Rear end, motor, trans, everything already done! 20,000.. Unless your buying it to collect it- id save time- and get one aready done.. just my 2 cents. Good luck with whatever ya buy..

It's not all that rare of a car per-say.. I wouldn't buy it if it's not what you want, regardless of how good of a deal it is. I'm trying to sell this 'Stang, and you wouldn't believe how many people have wanted it pretty hardcore, all until they found out it was an auto.
I wouldn't mess with the A4 to M6 swap myself (also most A4's came with 2.73's) While not necessarily true, if you're not confident enough in yourself to learn and deal with an A4, I'm going to say an M6 swap isn't going to be a walk in the park for you and it won't get done. Again, not necessarily true...just likely. Alot of people say and pretend they know when in reality they don't, then you're stuck with a car you never really wanted in the first place. Hope this helps man.

Dan, did you have a pewter T/A last summer with the Loudmouth exhaust on it? If so, I'm the guy with the silver Z28 with the billet grille, I've messed around with you and the guy with the red Mach 1 before on Veteran's.

SOM WS6 with 34K for 15.5K, why don't you let me know where it is and i'll buy it. Seriously, a WS6 SOM is a rare and by far the best looking WS6. WIth some mods and a stall you'll eat up almost anything. Don't underestimate an A4 and a good stall... Buy It.
