thats about right depending on the miles, 5.3's came in alot of trucks so they are pletiful. Around here you can pick up 5.3's around 500-750 depending on the miles and a 4l60 for about the same.
Guy from work paid 3200 for a new LS6 thru crateenginedepot.. I called a little while back when I was looking for a motor for my S10 and they wanted 3000 for a LS1.. thats 100% new not reman

There are two part #'s for LS6 long blocks on the Crate Engine Depot Site. Just google them.The part # I give you is actually for a Caddy Escalade application but the same moter except for exhaust port size or shape is different (can''t remember which). That is why it is rated at 400hp instead of 405hp. Otherwise exact same engine. $2995.00. Part #89017653
