I added up my reciepts the other day and it was a touch over 16K. I still need to spend another 3-4K to finish it the way I want, then I want a new paint job....I don't think it ever comes to an end.

Ugggh , I hate this game. Motor, fuel system and labor was 10K. Rear end 2K, trans 2K, suspension & cage 2k? So 16K plus I bought it slightly used way back for 15,500. 31.5K, ouch!

$XXX,XXX

No one said that this game is cheap. To be the best, you have to spend money. It is part of the cycle for sure.

Well over 20k plus the cost of the car.

It's still about $6k from being done.

Fast cars = not an investment.

lets see...
9" $2600
Mcleod street twiin & adj master $1550
Cam&springs from futral $850
Headers, lm1 and y bout $1250
oil pump & cloyes chain bout $350
lid and bellows ported maf(new) $100
short stick & cags bout $30
MSD wire, plugs, o2 extensions bout $170
drag radials for some fun $360
dyno tune $500
$000 labor
Grand total $7760. Having the ricers intentionally not pull up next to me at the redlight cuz my car lopes so hard it shakes theirs......priceless.
This doesnt include all the little tidbit **** i bought here and there, or the damn spec clutch that lasted me a whopping 6000 miles, special tools needed to install all this stuff. I havent even touched the suspension or got a track time on all the new stuff either. Thats all next and very soon though

landonew, those parts would have to be the best of everything for 3K. No way that it could cost that much for a cam swap.
cam $390
oil pump & double roller chain $350
springs, push rods, etc package. $600
Underdrive pulley $230
lifters $200
install $680
dyno tune $400
total $2850
that not including gaskets and little other things, so about $3000 is right.
i always do my own work to my car but im to iffy about doin the cam swap so ill let the pros do it. thats what make it a little more pricy the install.

I'm just over 10k with my 9" coming in next week and im still stock internal... AND there's no labor in that as i've done everything myself.

But I think being one of very few naturally aspirated stock internal M6 cars in the mid 11's is well worth the money.
