I loved my auto v6 firebird for this reason. When I have my 9.5 wheels with good tires it wouldn't spin but just a little bit when I stomped it to the floor. Good times

I have a M6 now and I don't "floor it" until the RPMs are at least 3k or i'll spin like crazy.

Eitherway with a set of drag radials it will improve by atleast a 1/2 sec if not 1 full sec
Gu5 is the door code, and i'm sure because at 68 or so mph is 2,000 rpm

^^^^^68 mph at 2K is 323s. i agree with the wheelspin causing an early shift then you bogging in second bc the rpms are too low, its a dead spot. definitely roll into the throttle, if you light them up immediately then you have no choice to spin all the way through first or let off. i dont get the gas to the floor until at least 20 to 25mph and then im crossing my fingers.

The sumitomos in your sig are the problem. Get some sticky tires and it will be much better.

DRs can handle WOT on that car. I could pull high 1.6x and low 1.7x 60' times on Hooiser QTPs in my old 93 T/A that had a lot more HP then this car.

Yeah DR's will definately hold up to WOT even on a decently modded car. Get a good set of tires and your problems will dissapear. I went from 4.5 to 3.7 0-60 with a set of MT ET streets...sticky tires are without a doubt the best mod you can make.

My SS handles WOT in first gear on Nittos

It's not easy to do, but it's possible

X2 a set of BFG drag radials or the Mickey Thompson drag radials will hold up to a WOT with ease on your car. Mine hooks up with them even with the bald *** bfgs they still stick

Thats about right for a auto with 3.23s..., If you have a auto with those gears your not going to get a low 5 second 0-60 time. The normal avg. time for that is around 6seconds not to mention your spinning a shitload.

I've gotten both of my from wheels of the ground at the track with 255/50/16 MT DRs. 1.63x 60's M6 with 423RWHP. Probably could have launched it higher but that was my last run last time at the track. Those tires are amazing.

When the cars were new, a few mags got 0-60 in the mid-low 5's for automatics.

Explain how he's going to outshift the PCM. It's an electronic transmission. It doesn't shift instantly, even when you shift manually. Shifting manually will yield 2 things: you will either shift too early or you will hit the rev limiter. The only way to shift perfectly is to leave it in Drive.

Thats what i'm going to do...all i have to worry about is easing on the throttle at the start to avoid spinning
