lower control arms and a torque arm.

subframes are needed but not to stop wheelhop, those help strengthen the chassis.

When I had the T/A I never had wheel hop when it was stock or with the H/C and it was stock suspension. Like I said previously, my vette is a different story.

I was thinking the same thing.

How old are your shocks? bad shocks will do it every time.

Being able to do a burnout doesn't mean anything. It's being able to hook that's impressive.

Who cares if a Stang does a burnout near you?

after i installed lca's, poly trans and torque arm mount i noticed alot less wheel hop. though i never really did a burnout i did get some wheel hop quick shifting into second down the track.

the poly mounts will increase interior noise and vibration. i didnt mind it at all.

LCA's, Torque arm, and good shocks will help you the most.

Get some lower control arms with relocation brackets. An adjustable torque arm will also help keep your rear planted.

Seriously don't waste your tires, after a couple sets you'll figure it out.

Jeez I feel like an old man.
Meh, I'm 18 and have the same outlook. You shouldn't feel old. Even if you buy cheapish tires (sumitomohomos) they are going to get expensive. Buying tires for the geo metro would be nothing. 275/40/R17 and up.... yeah.

Lower control arms will fix the wheel hop problem.

If it's really wheel hop DON'T do any more burnouts.

Wheel hop kills differentials. It causes unnecessary flex of the rear which while doing that will put the gears under a lot of stress.

To do a proper burnout (which doesn't kill the differential since it's breaking traction and simply spinning the tires), bring the rpm up to like 3500 rpm at least and just let go of the clutch completely. Simply dump it and it'll break traction and you can spin it. If you try to do a burnout at a lower rpm, you run the risk of being within the tire's traction range. That is where wheel hop is at it's worst. At 3500 you are just 500 rpm short of peak torque and should be more torque than the tires can handle hence the instant spin.

actually you want more TORQUE to do better burnouts.

Get some LCAs, is the car lowered? if so try out the relocation brackets and an adjustable panhard bar, and if that doesnt do it a better torque arm will help for higher hp/tq cars. good shocks help too, like some qa1s.

Oh yeah, and if the rear tires are spinning, you dont have to worry about breaking your rear, they only break from drivetrain shock like hard launches and fucked up burnout starts. do it in second gear.
