5k or less.
before you pay 1 penny for it, investigate where the title is from.. is it salvage or rebuilt? what is your state's policy on any inspection it may need?
will your insurance insure you/>

I really don't think your insurance carrier will ask for a copy of your title. I would be more worried about making sure you like the car because with a salvaged title you will have a hard time reselling the car down the road.

if the car is ever hit again, the insurance pay out will only be the salvage value.

It must look great w/ low mileage for you to consider it. Surprises me that the dealer is flexible w/ you just making an offer, sounds like they know it's worth close to nothing.
Good luck.

you need more details. 01 could be a formula with 190k miles on it. it all depends on what it really is for a car. Just so you know, i sold my 02 salvage WS6 modded with 34k on it last april for $17,500. And about insurance paying out on it.....talk to your insurance co. I had my car appraised so if it was totaled again i wouldnt end up with $3500 for a car that was worth a **** ton more. Also, i think you would look retarded offering $5k. ****, i watch 01's sell salvage on auction for more than that and your talkin about a car thats fixed.

^^^ Problem is not the car itself.. its what the title now says. If he were to go to trade it in he wouldn't get anything for it. But whatever its up to whoever wants to buy it.. personally I would never buy a salvage title vehicle unless its going to be dragstrip only car being pulled by a trailer.

make sure the numbers match between the vin on the dash and on the engine. if its theft recovery, make sure you know the condition of \the car when it was recovered. was it stripped? was a new engine swapped in? just make sure everythings legit and stolen parts wernt added back onto it. Stuff like that happens all the time where I live.
