Default Right hand drive F-body

Did a search and couldn't find anything......

Does anyone know of any F-bodys that have been converted to right hand drive? Any companies that do it or anyone know how?

Theres a heap of RHD Vettes but no f-bodies

Especially with the cars getting cheaper and turning up in Europe/Asia now.

G'day mate,

Unsure where you live but there is plenty of RHD American muscle here in Australia. Our 95 Formula is RHD, converted in the late 90s. It´s a mirror conversion, only a couple things remain original. Check out my pics, she gets plenty of looks and is a blast to drive with the tops off. I know companies here in Oz that convert US cars to RHD, if you want any info, just ask. Cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they did sell 4th gens in japan

So those would have to be factory RHD right?

Thanks for the compliment Hollo! The 67 was real nice, and that was still LHD. If the car is older then 25years, it can remain LHD, so in other words you see plenty of classic American muscle that remain original, un-converted. Unfortunatly all new stuff such as Vettes and pickups etc have to be converted, and it isn´t cheap.

No Fbodys were ever factory RHD, I wish they were! Most US cars here in Oz are personal imports, say 95%, others such as the 300c, Jeeps and so on are sold as new in dealerships and come RHD from the factory.

Yes they did sell them there, but Japan doesn't require them to be converted to RHD so they are still LHD.

^ Japan smog laws are way easier than say California and a Camaro has no problem passing smog, from what I have seen they actually sell for more over there than stateside and for the most part are in better shape and have lower miles.

I just moved back stateside a couple years ago after living in Japan for 11 years and looked into finding an LS1 4th gen while I was there and then bringing it back. Prices and import laws forced me to buy one stateside instead.

the only things i would be pissed about are the hump on that side for the cat, and the steering shaft on that side being more in the way of headers and plus. looks good though.

Good points raised there Revelation. Compared with the passanger side area, there is hardly any leg room, and the pedals are quite close together which took some getting use to. And your correct in saying the steering shaft being in the way of the headers. I was going to purchase a set of headers when I brought the car but it would of been just to much trouble to install..

Well not many of the 4th gens are imported anymore but when they were imported, most during the 90s, it cost around $25,000 Oz dollars, it isn't cheap but unfortunatly has to be done. New C6 Vettes cost atleast $40,000. Its a real shame they cant be left as is LHD.

Thanks all for the kind words!

I doubt the hump would get in the way at all b/c your legs would be extended to reach the pedals
