Just got my stuff two weeks ago at Wal Mart and didn't see any changes in price. I was thinking about changing oil anyways.

I run Amsoil with a K&N filter. Best oil I've ever used.

And for all you guys that are freaking out about the switch from 5 to 4 qt jugs and not having enough oil, don't you check the dip[stick after an oil change? Are you retarded?

Mobil 1 isn’t bad oil.

There are some that show better wear results. But the rest of your car will fall apart LONG before the engine will due to the difference between the “better” M1 oils (0W40, 5W40) and the competition (Pennzoil Platinum, GC, etc.).

I’ve been happy with the M1 0W40, and I’m sticking with it.

I found that BJ's has a Shell fully synthetic oil for $19.99 per 6 quart case, plus they were running some special with a $5 rebate so I picked up a bunch. Seems to be doing well in my current cars and cant beat a full synthetic for $15.

Check the post moron. I said I noticed it before I even put it in the car. Just pissed I did not notice it before I got home. Had to go back for another QT.

Just a sales trick so people see the same price and don't notice the smaller container. Just Mobil being sneaky in my opinion.

Or Walmart being sneaky.

Personally, there is no way I'd miss a size change from 5 to 4 quarts. That's a 20% reduction in size. Seems like that'd be noticeable to the average person, IMO.

You could tell the difference once I put it down next to the other oil containers in the garage. Just not very noticable being in the same spot it has always been on the shelf.

To the OP.

It's not our fault Mobil 1 discontinued the 5qt Jugs. I am a manager out the local Wal-Mart and we sell what they send us. The numbers on the 4 qt. are the same as the 5 qt. Once again it's not us being sneaky, it's mobil one doing the swap on us. YMMV as not all Wal-marts will have the same products either, if we have old stock it goes out first so there may still be some 5qt jugs if you check another walmart.

But is Walmart paying the same price as before (from M1), or are they increasing profit margin on the smaller jugs?

That is correct. Mobil 1 is charging us the same for the 4qt as the 5qt as the UPC numbers corss reference. I double checked this about 4 hours ago while I was at work JUST to be sure.
