Code/Service Bulletin Help.
Hey guys, My gf has a 2001 V6 Camaro, and has a P0420 code. I've done some searching here and found many answers and have pretty much found the problem. Now I need to know the service bulletin number or a copy of the bulletin stating that GM did in fact extend the converter warranty on F-bodies to 10yr/120k. I called a contact I know at a dealer here in town, and he stated the extension was for the impala/monte carlo/grand prix cars. Can someone point me in the correct direction to find this documentation? Oh, and I posted this here hoping for more traffic than the subforums. Thanks!
Here are a couple of threads where I found this information:

They covered my 02 z28 'vert up to 120,000 miles, don't remember a time limit. I had it done a couple months ago. Good deal except for the part when someone hit my car in their lot

that sucks. what did you do? just go in to the dealer and say I've got this light on, check it. then they come back with, oh, it's the cats, we'll fix them for you.

Entirely different actually. I read about the cats enxtended special warranty program a long time ago somewhere. Thought it was up to 100,000 miles, I was at 99k when the light came on, brought it to autozone, and the code I don't remember exactly, but it told me it was a bad cat. So then I brought it to the dealer.

yeah here it is, a letter from GM. basically it says some 2002 v8 camaros may have failure of left or right. Not a recall, an extended warranty, so it only gets fixed if it fails. 10yr/120,000 miles. ?'s call dealer or chevy customer assistance center 8a-11p est m-f 800-630-2438.
I've also gotten a lot of good factory info at www.mygmlink.com, definitely worth looking at, I have some good printouts from them here in my files.

ok, so i called GM today and they said it has no warranty left on this particular car. The lady also said that she didn't know of any extension of these warranties either. Anyone else have any suggestions before I shell out $300 to fix the cat?

I know I got a letter about the extended cat warranty for my 2001 Camaro SS, but I am the original owner. Two things I am not sure about though are:
- if the warranty extension covers v6 cars or just LS1 cars
- if it covers just the original owner or mileage on car regardless of number of owners.
I had already removed my cats so I didn't pay much attention to the letter...but I'm sure I still have it. I'll try to find it tonight.

TSB #05513 dated nov. 2006 says 2000-2002 camaro/firebird ls1/v8 vehicles cat. warranty extended to 10years/120k miles. Found info on shop's alldata. Peformed search for v6 and found no extension info. Hope this helps.

Yes it does. The LS1 just has 2 rather than 1.
I got the letter for my '01 V-6 which I traded in for the WS6. I didn't have mine fixed because right about the time it was just starting to throw the code I saw the WS6 I have now and the next day I turned the light off and traded. My bad. Stealership's problem after that.
